Chapter 38 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2006 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting, after section 15, the following section:-
Section 16. The chief medical examiner or his designee may, at the request of a district attorney, other law enforcement official, the department of public health or any duly appointed investigatory body, offer services in the field of forensic pathology in matters involving living individuals, including but not limited to, physical examination, review of medical records and photographs, review of histology and toxicologic laboratory findings, and court testimony. Files, reports, photographs, and all other records created by the chief medical examiner or his designee relating to this section shall not be deemed public records.
