An Act to Expedite Insurance Coverage for New Employees of the Commonwealth ..

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  Chapter 32A of the General is hereby amended by adding the following section:-

Section 24.Notwithstanding any other general or special law or rule or regulation to the contrary, new employees who are eligible for coverage and employees newly-eligible for coverage shall, upon enrollment in a health insurance plan offered by the commission, be immediately eligible for the benefits of such coverage.  The commission shall not make any rules or regulations or otherwise require a waiting period for benefits coverage.
