An Act relative to non-citizen sex offenders..

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  Section 178E of Chapter 6 of the General Laws, as so appearing in the 2006 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after paragraph (q) the following new paragraph:-  (r)  The board shall maintain accurate records of registered sex offenders born outside of the United States.  Said records are to be submitted semi-annually on the first Wednesday in March and the first Wednesday in September to the FBI and ICE for purposes of verifying immigration status.  The board shall submit an annual letter of compliance containing the number of offenders submitted to federal agencies and the number of offenders in violation of immigration laws.  Said letter shall be submitted by the board on the first Wednesday in October to the Governor, attorney general, state auditor, the joint committee on the judiciary, the joint committee on public safety and homeland security, and the department of public safety.  Said records shall be subject to review at the discretion of the state auditor.
