An Act to Promote Pedestrian Responsibility.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 18A of chapter 90 of the general laws, as appearing in the 2006 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out the last sentence of the first paragraph, and inserting in place thereof, the following sentence;
Whoever violates any provision of any such rule shall be punished by a fine of fifty dollars for the first, one hundred dollars for the second or third such offense committed by such person within the jurisdiction of the district court in the particular calendar year, and by a fine of two hundred and fifty dollars for the fourth or subsequent such offense so committed in such calendar year.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect at the commencement of the first fiscal year following enactment of this act.
