An Act relative to the relocation of electrical power transmission lines in the city of Lynn..

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION I.  Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the city of Lynn may levy and collect assessments for betterments upon any real property owner who receives a benefit or advantage as a result of the relocation of electrical power transmission lines in the city. The city of Lynn, within 6 months after the completion of the relocation of the electrical power transmission lines, shall determine the value of the benefit or advantage to the land within such area and assess upon each parcel thereof a proportionate share of the cost of the improvement, and shall include in such cost all damages awarded therefore under chapter 79 of the General Laws-; but the assessment shall not exceed the amount of the adjudged benefit or advantage.  The city of Lynn shall in the order or assessment designate as the owner of each parcel the person who was liable to assessment therefore on the preceding January first under chapter 59 of the General Laws.

SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
