In the Year Two Thousand Nine

An Act exempting the town of Wilmington from liability..

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the Town of Wilmington shall not be found or held liable, with respect to the solid waste landfill and site located in the Town which is known as the “Maple Meadows Landfill”, (a) pursuant to Chapter 21E of the General Laws or any regulations, guidelines, orders, or approvals promulgated thereunder; (b) pursuant to Chapter 111, Sections 150A of 150A1/2 of the General Laws or any regulations, guidelines, orders or approvals promulgated thereunder; (c) pursuant to the “Massachusetts Contingency Plan”, Chapter 310 of the Code of Massachusetts Regulations Section 40 or any guidelines, orders, or approvals promulgated thereunder.

SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect upon passage.
