An Act relative to bus stops..

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  Section 46 of chapter 161A as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting at the end of the section the following paragraph:- 

Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, it shall be a defense to a violation notice issued under section 20A or 20A½ of chapter 90 for parking a motor vehicle within a posted bus stop, on the side of a roadway, that such bus stop was not posted with one or more signs nearby, conspicuous and of reasonable height, to identify clearly the length alongside the curb or edge of such roadway so designated as a bus stop. This paragraph shall apply to a violation notice so issued for parking a motor vehicle within an authority bus stop or other bus stop located in any city or town.
