An Act relative to the minimum wage..

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Section 1 of chapter 151 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2006 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following paragraph:

An employer, as defined in section 152A of chapter 149 of the General Laws, shall not employ a wait staff employee, service employee, or service bartender, as defined by said section, at a basic wage rate less than $3.63 an hour, and beginning on January 1, 2011, and on each January 1 thereafter, this basic tip wage shall be increased at the same percentage rate as the minimum wage rate.
