An Act reducing firearm license application fees..
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 140, Section 129B of the General Laws is hereby amended by striking out “$100” in the first sentence in Clause 9A and adding the following:-
“$50”
SECTION 2. Chapter 140, Section 129B is hereby amended by striking out the second sentence in Clause 9A and inserting the following:-
“The licensing authority shall retain $25 of the fee; and $25 of the fee shall be deposited in the Firearms Fingerprint Identity Verification Trust Fund”.
SECTION 3. Chapter 140, Section 131 is hereby amended by striking out “$100” in the fourth sentence in subsection (i) and inserting the following:-
“$50”
SECTION 4. Chapter 140, Section 131 is hereby amended by striking out the fifth, sixth, and seventh sentences in subsection (i) in their entirety and inserting the following:-
“The licensing authority shall retain $25 of the fee; $12.50 of the fee shall be deposited in the Firearms Fingerprint Identity Verification Trust Fund and the Firearm Licensing Review Board shall retain $12.50. For law enforcement officials, or local, state, or federal government entities acting on their behalf, the fee for the application shall be set at $25, which shall be payable to the licensing authority and shall not be prorated or refunded in case of revocation or denial”.
