In the Year Two Thousand Eleven

An Act to restore local control in coastal communities of the Commonwealth.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Chapter 21F of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following section:
Section 8. Any coastal city or town acting through its mayor with the approval of the city council, through its manager and town council in a town having town council form of government, or through its board of selectmen and town meeting in any other town may designate a proposed area of coastal waters adjacent to said city or town as a “wind development exclusion zone.”
