An Act relative to groundwater recharge.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Section 1: Chapter 192 of the Acts of 2006 is herby amended by striking out Section 12 and adding the following:

Item 7004-0097 of section 2E of chapter 122 of the acts of 2006 is herby amended by adding the following “provided further, that not less than $2,000,000 shall be appropriated to the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority for a demonstration project to increase groundwater levels in a section of the City of Boston adjacent to the Southwest Corridor, with all phases of the design and implementation of the project to be conducted in consultation with the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs, the City of Boston, and the Boston Groundwater Trust. Such funds can only be expended following the execution of a memorandum of understanding between the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs, the City of Boston, and the Boston Groundwater Trust that details the design and review process of the demonstration project, the project management process, and the consultation process amongst the parties.
