In the Year Two Thousand Eleven

An Act relative to students with severe disabilities.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 1I of chapter 69 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2006 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following paragraph:-
Students with severe disabilities who are unable to take the written MCAS assessment and who participate in the MCAS alt assessment shall have their MCAS portfolios based on the students individual education plan’s goals and objectives rather than MCAS standards.
