In the Year Two Thousand Eleven

An Act to include certain employees of the Commonwealth in Group 2 of the State Retirement System.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Section 3 of Chapter 32 of the General Laws, as appearing in the

1998 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the

words, “wayward children”, in line 290, the following words:—or

employees of the Commonwealth whose regular and major duties

require them to provide treatment for, or be responsible for, the care

of persons who are mentally ill, mentally retarded, chronically psychologically

impaired or who are persons with chronic infectious

disease; or registered nurses and other health care professions that

are state employees to a “professional status” for the purposes of

their retirement.
