An Act relative to retirement systems and pensions..

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  Section 12 of chapter 32 is hereby amended by inserting the following new paragraph after line 142:—

In the event of a divorce between member and their spouse/beneficiary occurring after the member’s date of retirement said member is permitted to change their designated policy beneficiary under existing provisions of this option provided that the policy is not subject to any settlement agreements pertaining to said divorce; and further provided, that the allowance shall be adjusted to reflect any changes to the policy in consideration of said new beneficiary.
