An Act relative to retirement benefits for Anne Low.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of paragraph (o) of section 4 of chapter 32 of the General Laws, the Massachusetts Teachers' Retirement Board is hereby authorized and directed to allow Ms. Anne Low to purchase as creditable service the time she served as an elected school committee member in North Andover from March 5, 1990 through August 31, 1990 and July 1, 1991 through August 31, 1993 from which she received no compensation; provided that no credit shall be allowed unless said Anne Low has paid into the Annuity Savings Fund of the teachers' retirement system, by the date of her retirement, in one sum or in installments, upon such terms and conditions as the board may prescribe, an amount equal to the deductions that would have been withheld had Ms. Anne Low been compensated at the rate of twenty-five hundred dollars per year, together with buyback interest.
