An Act relative to the powers and duties of a regional school district.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  Section 16 of Chapter 71 of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding at the end thereof the following subsection:

"(s) A regional school district may serve as the fiscal agent when the region and one or more towns or supervisory union have hired the same superintendent and central office.  The region may send an assessment to the towns for its share of the operating costs of shared personnel and central office operations."
