In the Year Two Thousand Eleven

An Act relative to charter school renewal.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Subsection (kk) of Section 89 of Chapter 71 of the General Laws, as most recently amended in Section 51 Chapter 131 of the Acts of 2010, is hereby amended by inserting in the first sentence after the word, “charter”, the following: -; provided, however, that the term for a charter school renewal shall be 7 years from the expiration of the initial charter or subsequent renewals.
