An Act relative to unclaimed property in the Commonwealth.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1 . Section 32 of Chapter 29 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition, is hereby amended by deleting the words “abandoned property fund”, in lines 6 and 7 and inserting in place thereof on said lines,  the words “Unclaimed Property Fund”.

SECTION 2. Section 7D of Chapter 79 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting the words “unclaimed and”, after the word “to”, as it appears the second time in line 27.

SECTION 3. Section 17 of Chapter 158 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting the words “unclaimed and”, after the word “as”, as it appears in line 47.

SECTION 4. Section 75 of Chapter 171 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting the words “unclaimed and”, after the word “as”, as it appears in line 122.

SECTION 5.  Chapter 200A of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking the title to said chapter and inserting in place thereof the following title: — DISPOSITION OF UNCLAIMED PROPERTY

SECTION 6. Section 1 of Chapter 200A of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting the words “unclaimed and”, after the word “presumed”, as it appears in line 3.

SECTION 7. Section 8 (b) of Chapter 200A of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition, is hereby amended by deleting the word “abandoned”, in line 8, and inserting in place thereof the word “unclaimed”.

SECTION 8. Section 9 (d) of Chapter 200A of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition, is hereby amended by deleting the word “abandoned”, in lines 39, 40 and 41 and inserting in place thereof on said lines, the word “unclaimed”.

SECTION 9. Section 9 (e) of Chapter 200A of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition, is hereby amended by deleting the word “Abandoned”, in lines 44 and 48 and inserting in place thereof on said lines, the word “Unclaimed”.

SECTION 10. Section 10 (i)(1) of Chapter 200A of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition, is hereby amended by deleting the words “abandoned property trust fund”, in lines 86 and 91 and inserting in place thereof on said lines,  the words “Unclaimed Property Fund”.

SECTION 11. Section 12 (f) of Chapter 200A of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition, is hereby amended by deleting the word “abandoned”, in line 35, and inserting in place thereof the word “unclaimed”.

SECTION 12. Section 12 (g) of Chapter 200A of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition, is hereby amended by deleting the word “abandoned”, in lines 42, 44, 49 and 59 and inserting in place thereof on said lines, the word “unclaimed”.

SECTION 13. Section 12 (h) of Chapter 200A of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition, is hereby amended by deleting the word “abandoned”, in lines 63 and 67 and inserting in place thereof on said lines, the word “unclaimed”.

SECTION 14. Section 15 of Chapter 200A of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition, is hereby amended by deleting the word “Abandoned”, in line 2 and inserting in place thereof on said lines, the word “Unclaimed”.
