An Act relative to the acceptance and disposition of municipal easements.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 40 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official edition, is hereby amended by adding after section 14 the following new section:-
Section 14A. In any town, the Board of Selectman may accept any conveyance of land or any interest therein, including easements, provided that any purchase of such land or any interest therein, including easements, has been previously authorized by vote of the town as may be required by state law or local bylaw and an appropriation of money has been made as provided in section 14. Such Board may also accept any conveyance of land or any interest therein, including easements, for nominal consideration of less than one hundred dollars and for which no appropriation is required. In any town, the Board of Selectman may approve the conveyance of any easement, provided that the conveyance has been previously authorized by vote of the town as may be required by state law or local bylaw.
