Peake for legislation to authorize cities and towns to prohibit  the use of double poles by utility companies for longer than ninety days.  Telecommunications, Utilities and Energy.

An Act relative to double poles.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Section 34B of chapter 164 of the Genera l Laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “pole;” in line 5, the following:

"provided further, that a city or town may enforce this section by the enactment of a local ordinance or bylaw prohibiting double poles beyond the ninety days authorized by this section, violation of which may be punishable by a fine not to exceed a maximum two hundred dollars per occurrence, per day."
