An Act relative to the penalization of motor vehicle operators.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Section 8 of Chapter 90 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the words “but not more than sixty months after the effective date of such license.” the following sentence: If an operator fails to renew their license, they shall not receive any punishment for up to one year after their license’s expiration date.

SECTION 2. Chapter 90 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after Section 10A the following section-

Section 10B. If an operator’s motor vehicle license has been expired for one year or less, it is to still be considered valid, and they cannot receive punishment for driving with an invalid license.
