An Act relative to assaults upon sports officials.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.

Chapter 265 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 13D½ the following section: — Section 13D½. Whoever commits an assault upon a sports official within the confines or immediate vicinity of the athletic facility at which the athletic contest in which said official officiated shall be punished by imprisonment for not more than two and one-half years in a house of correction or by a fine of not more than ten thousand dollars.
