An Act to Defend Marriage.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 4 of chapter 207 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition, is amended by inserting the following sentence at the end thereof:- A marriage contracted while either party thereto has entered into a civil union or domestic partnership with another person, unless such civil union or domestic partnership has lawfully been terminated or dissolved, shall be void.
