An Act relative to increasing the number of years of creditable service used to calculate retirement allowances.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1.Subsection (2)(a) of Section 5 of Chapter 32 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out the words “three consecutive years of creditable service” and inserting in place thereof the words “five consecutive years of creditable service”.
SECTION 2.Said subsection (2)(a) of said Section 5 of said Chapter 32 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition, is hereby further amended by striking out the words “last three years of creditable service” and inserting in place thereof the words “last five years of creditable service”.
