An Act relative to age in the Massachusetts retirement system.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Section 1.  Said chapter 32 of the General Laws is hereby amended by adding the following new section:-

Notwithstanding any provision of this chapter to the contrary, for employees who enter the service of the commonwealth or any political subdivision thereof on or after the effective date of this section, the minimum age for the receiving of a retirement allowance shall be 62 years of age.
