An Act relative to driver education.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  Section 13D of chapter 71 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting, after the second paragraph, the following paragraph:-

A driver education course shall include a program module, at the direction and with the approval of the registrar and the department of public safety, that provides the students with knowledge and training of the proper manner of exiting a motor vehicle, as a driver or passenger, after the occurrence of any motor vehicle accident, in which said driver or passenger is involved or providing assistance. 

SECTION 2.  Section 32G of chapter 90 of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby amended by inserting, after the 17th paragraph, the following paragraph:-

The licensee shall include in the course of instruction of the driver education course, a program module, at the direction and with the approval of the registrar and the department of public safety, that provides the students with knowledge and training of the proper manner of exiting a motor vehicle, as a driver or passenger, after the occurrence of any motor vehicle accident, in which said driver or passenger is involved or providing assistance.
