An Act relative to the geographic limits of Fire District No. 2 in the town of South Hadley.
Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to ensure all residents of the Town of South Hadley have access to necessary fire services, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public safety.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding section 79 of chapter 48 of the General Laws, or any other law, rule or regulation to the contrary, the geographical boundary line of the current northern section of Fire District No.2 in the town of South Hadley shall be extended to conform to the northern boundary line of the town of South Hadley so that said northern section of the town shall be annexed to South Hadley Fire District No. 2. All property or land or territory within the boundaries of the town of South Hadley that lie north of the current South Hadley Fire District No.2 northern boundary, south of the towns of Amherst and Hadley, Massachusetts, west of Granby, Massachusetts, and east of the Connecticut river shall be annexed to and included in said Fire District No. 2.
