An Act relative to promote energy efficiency.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  Section 6 of chapter 64H of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following paragraph:-

(yy) sales of equipment purchased by municipalities or businesses that reduce energy use of a building.  The commissioner shall promulgate regulations to implement the provisions of this paragraph. 

SECTION 2.  Chapter 149 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after section 27D the following section:-

Section 27D½.  Public building projects for energy efficiency shall not be subject to sections 26 to 27D, inclusive; provided, that such project has a cost under $250,000 and is for the energy reduction of such building by 15 per cent or more.
