In the Year Two Thousand Eleven

An Act validating the acts and proceedings of the preliminary mayoral election in the city of North Adams.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding section 106 of chapter 54 of the General Laws or any other general or special law or by-law to the contrary, all acts and proceedings taken by the city of North Adams at the preliminary mayoral election held on September 27, 2011, and all actions taken pursuant thereto, including the results that Richard Alcombright and Ronald Boucher be the candidates to appear on the general election ballot, are hereby ratified, validated and confirmed, notwithstanding any defect or omission with regard to the ballot for the election, and notwithstanding the instruction on the ballot instructing voters to vote for more candidates than there were officers to be elected.

SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect upon its passage.
