The bridge designated by chapter 46 of the acts of 1971 as the Charles W. Parker, Jr. bridge on interstate highway route 195 in the town of Wareham shall be redesignated as the First Sergeant Charles W. Parker Memorial Bridge, in memory of Charles W. Parker who was killed in action while a member of the armed forces of the United States during World War II. The division of highways within the Massachusetts Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain suitable markers bearing that designation in compliance with applicable state and federal standards.
