An Act authorizing the town of Scituate to continue the employment of Chief of Police Brian E. Stewart.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, chief of the police department of the town of Scituate, may continue in that position until June 30, 2013.  The appointing authority may, at its own expense, require that Brian E. Stewart be examined by an impartial physician to determine that he is mentally and physically capable of performing the duties of that position.  Deductions shall continue to be made from the regular compensation of Brian E. Stewart under chapter 32 of the General Laws for any service performed until June 30, 2013.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
