AN ACT RELATIVE TO HEALTH INSURANCE BENEFITS IN THE CITY OF LAWRENCE.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding paragraph (d) of subdivision 2 of section 3 of chapter 32 of the General Laws or any general or special law or regulation to the contrary, Building-Based Educators and Long- Term Substitutes who are employed by the Lawrence Public Schools in a full-time, full-year position shall be members of the Lawrence Retirement System under chapter 32 of the General Laws and shall be eligible for health insurance coverage through the Group Insurance Commission under section 19 of chapter 32B of the General Laws.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
