An Act designating a certain bridge as the United States Marine Corporal Nicholas G. Xiarhos Bridge.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. The bridge connecting the towns of Dennis and Yarmouth, bridge number D07004=Y01003 47T carrying Route 28 Main Street over the Bass River, informally known as the Bass River Bridge, shall be designated as the United States Marine Corporal Nicholas G. Xiarhos Memorial Bridge.

SECTION 2.  The highway division shall erect and maintain a conspicuous sign, plaque, or marker recognizing United States Marine Corporal Nicholas G. Xiarhos stating "The Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the Citizens of Cape Cod hereby recognize the sacrifice of United States Marine Corporal Nicholas G. Xiarhos who gave his life in service of his country in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan on July 23, 2009. " and shall comply with the standards of the division .

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
