An Act to designate the courthouse in the Roxbury section of the city of Boston as the Edward O. Gourdin Courthouse.

Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to designate the courthouse in the Roxbury section of the city of Boston as the Edward O. Gourdin Courthouse, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

The courthouse located at 85 Warren Street in the city of Boston that houses the Roxbury division of the Boston municipal court department shall be designated and known as the Edward O. Gourdin Courthouse, in memory of the late honorable Edward Orval “Ned” Goudin for his many contributions to the judiciary, his community and the commonwealth.  The division of capital asset management and maintenance shall erect and maintain suitable markers bearing the designation in compliance with any applicable standards.
