An Act relative to community service to expedite the sealing of delinquency records..

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Section 100B of chapter 276 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after the first paragraph the following paragraph:-

Any person whose record applies to a court appearance or disposition as outlined under clause (1) of the previous paragraph shall be eligible to have his record sealed prior to 3-years if the applicant has volunteered 100 hours of service to the municipality wherein he resides; provided, however, that such service shall be documented by the clerk, or appropriate official, of the municipality in which the applicant resides, and notarized documentation of the fulfillment of the community service shall be prepared and made available to the applicant for submission to the commissioner. 

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
