By Ms. Campbell of Methuen, a petition (accompanied by bill, House, No. 4530) of Linda Dean Campbell (with the approval of the mayor and city council) for legislation to increase the number of members on the Methuen Board of Health from three to five members.  Municipalities and Regional Government.  [Local Approval Received.]

In the Year Two Thousand Twelve

An Act establishing a Five-Member Board of Health in the city of Methuen.

 

Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to Create a Five Member Board of Health for the City of Methuen, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.
 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Section 1. Notwithstanding the first sentence of Section Twenty-Six Chapter One Hundred and Eleven of the General Laws or any General or Special law to the contrary, there shall be a Board of Health in the City of Methuen consisting of five persons, one of whom shall be a physician.

Section 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
