An Act relative to background checks for grid workers.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. No General or Special Law withstanding; No person shall engage in the repair, maintenance, installation or construction in any capacity whatsoever of the Utility Distribution System unless and until that person has undergone a security review conducted by the Department of Public Safety and has been certified in writing by that department. Such certification shall be in writing and shall be kept on file in the Secretary of Public Safety office.
