In the Year Two Thousand Eleven

An Act pertaining to definitions in the office of the child advocate.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
M.G.L.18c, sec 1 is amended by striking lines 6 through 12 and replacing them with the following;
”Critical incident”, (a) a fatality, near fatality, or serious bodily injury of a child who is in the custody or receiving services from an executive agency of the commonwealth; or (b) circumstances which result in a reasonable belief that the executive agency failed in its duty to protect a child and, as a result, the child was at imminent risk of, or suffered serious bodily injury.
