An Act relative to the retirement of police officers and firefighters due to injury or illness.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  Clause (ii) of paragraph (a) of subdivision (2) of section 7 of chapter 32 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2006 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “and”, in line 85, the following words:-

provided further that all police officers and firefighters receive the annuity as determined in accordance with the provisions of clause (i) plus a yearly amount of pension equal to seventy-two percent of the annual rate of the current wages paid by the city or town for police officers and firefighters;
