An Act relative to protecting the rights of custodial and other non teaching employees of school districts..

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Section 1. Section 59B of chapter 71 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the word "chapter", in lines 13 and 14, the following words:- ;provided, however, that in case of custodial, maintenance and other non-teaching positions, the hiring, promotion and termination of such employees shall be conducted in accordance with chapter 31 if such positions are classified as civil service positions or in accordance with any governing collective bargaining agreement.
