An Act relative to credible service for veterans..
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 32 Section (h), paragraph 1 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2006 Official Edition is hereby amended by adding at the end thereof the following sentence:
Any member who is a Veteran, as defined in Section 1 of said Chapter 115 as amended, who retired prior to January 1996, may be granted credible service for service to the Commonwealth or any municipality or county and such service may be compensated in a manner deemed acceptable by the retirement system with jurisdiction over said retiree.
