An Act to improve fairness in appealing property tax assessments.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Section 64 of Chapter 59 of the General Laws as appearing in the 2008 Official Edition is hereby amended by striking out, in lines 14-17, the words “unless the full amount of said tax due has been paid without the incurring of any interest charges on any part of said tax pursuant to section fifty-seven of chapter fifty-nine of the General Laws” and inserting in place thereof the words “unless the full amount of said tax and interest has been paid before the end of the fiscal year or the filing of the complaint with the clerk of the county commissioners or the board authorized to hear and determine such complaints, whichever is later”.
