Resolutions in support of a two minute moment of silence honoring those who have served in the U.S. Armed Services.

 

RESOLUTION in support of a two minute moment of silence honoring those who have served in the U.S. Armed Services

Presented by Representatives Alice Hanlon Peisch and Harold Naughton Jr.

WHEREAS, on November Eleventh of each year since 1919, veterans of the U.S. Armed Services are honored; and

WHEREAS, it is desirable to have a uniform time throughout the country when an actual acknowledgment occurs during that day; and             

WHEREAS, Michael and Daniel Bendetson, students residing in Weston, have suggested that a national two minute moment of silence occur on November Eleventh of each year to observe and honor our veterans; therefore be it

RESOLVED, that the Massachusetts House of Representatives hereby lends its support to the establishment of a two minute moment of silence at 2p.m. Eastern Standard Time, 1p.m. Central Standard Time, 12p.m. Mountain Standard Time, 11a.m. Pacific Time, 10a.m. Alaskan Standard Time and 9a.m. Hawaiian Standard Time, and to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and its Subdivisions making every effort to participate and encourage participation in said two minute moment of silence.
