In the Year Two Thousand Twelve

An Act Relative to the payment of fees for solemnizing Marriages in a Municipal Building in the City of Lowell.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Section 1

"Not withstanding section 35 of chapter 262 of the General Laws, the total fee for lawfully solemnizing and certifyinga marriage shall not exceed the fee limits as set forth in said section 35 of said chapter; provided, however, that where a municipal employee of the City of Lowell who is also a justice of the peace solemnizes a marriage in a municipal building during regular business hours, and fees for such services shall be paid directly to the city of Lowell."

Section 2

This act shall take effect upon its passage.
