In the Year Two Thousand Eleven

An Act relative to the retirement of officers in the department of the state police.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 26 of chapter 32, as most recently amended by chapter 149 of the acts of 2004, is hereby amended by inserting after subparagraph 3(a) the following new subparagraph:-
Section 26(3)(d): Notwithstanding the provisions of any general or special law to the contrary, a member of the state police association of Massachusetts electing to retire upon or during their twenty-fifth year of service, or any such member with over twenty-five years of service electing to retire before December 31, 2012, shall receive a cost of living adjustment in each of their initial ten years of retirement equal to three percent of the total retirement allowance in the preceding year as provided for in sections twelve and thirteen and section twenty-six of chapter thirty-two.
