In the Year Two Thousand Eleven

An Act to establish an early retirement incentive program for the Blue Hills retirement system..

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

                SECTION 1.Notwithstanding the provisions of Chapter 32 of the General Laws or any other general or special law to the contrary, the Blue Hills Retirement System may individually elect, subject to the approval of the general court, to participate in the retirement incentive program established, under the provisions of section two of chapter 219 of the Acts of the Year 2001, by a majority vote of the board of directors of said authority; provided, that such vote shall occur no later than August 31, 2005; and provided further, that eligibility for said program shall not exceed that outlined in Chapter 219 of the Acts of the Year 2001 as applied to the circumstances of the retirement system.  Said authorities may restructure the retirement incentive at their discretion; provided, that the benefit received by a retiree shall not exceed the retirement benefits provided in Chapter 219 of the Acts of the Year 2001; and provided further, that the effective retirement date shall be no later than November 1, 2004.

                SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect upon its passage.
