An Act requiring a statement of compliance with internet accessibility guidelines for websites to be funded with grant money from the Massachusetts public agencies.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, all organizations that apply for and receive grant monies from any agency of the Commonwealth for a project that includes the design and maintenance of an internet website shall certify in writing to the funding agency that they are aware of and will work to design their website to be in substantial compliance with published standards for Web Accessibility as detailed in the Americans with Disabilities Act.
