An Act to reduce car emissions.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation in consultation with the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs shall, in order to prevent unnecessary vehicle idling, and thus excessive auto emissions, examine the possibility of removing all traffic signs that read "no turn on red." Where it is determined that a sign is not required for traffic safety reasons, the sign shall be removed.
