Section 67 of Chapter 146 of the General Laws, as so appearing in the 2008 official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following sentences: Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, if the licensee is on active duty with the armed forces of the United States, the license shall remain valid until the licensee is released from active duty and for a period of not less than 90 days following said release. Also notwithstanding the provisions of this section, a licensee may apply for a medical hardship waiver subject to approval from the Chief if the licensee is undergoing medical treatment at the time his or her license expires. The Department shall promulgate rules and regulations to effectuate these provisions.
