An Act authorizing the town of Newbury to use certain fund balances for capital expenditures.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

              SECTION 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of section 20 of chapter 44 of the General Laws or any other general or special law to the contrary, the balances remaining in the Town of Newbury's treasury from the sale of bonds for the purposes of paying for projcts to cap the town's former landfill and construct the town's present transfer station may be expended without further appropriation by the Newbury Board of Selectmen for any purpose or purposes for which the town is authorized to incur debt for a period of five years or more.

             SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
